When I was in my late teens, I played in a rock band and also in the folk clubs.

Folk clubs were a relaxing enjoyment and the rock music was fun, but most importantly paid the bills.

I was always careful not to get carried away and rely on folk for a living, (assuming I had been good enough...) because some of the fun would go out of it. I go to watch acts on the small theatre / arts centre circuit who tour all year just to make a living and wonder if they enjoy it as much as somebody who doesn't have to work so hard?
