I think y'all are letting the tail wag the dog.

The number of dumb, lazy people in this world far exceeds the number of bold, organized thieves. Any instrument in a pawn shop is more likely to be there because somebody didn't want to practice than because somebody stole it.

Instead of worrying about the small percentage of guitars which might be stolen, you should be worrying about the broken-hearted guitars which are hanging by their necks, longing for someone to rescue them and love them.

You and those guitars could make beautiful music together.
