Just listened again to 'Sinner Man'. I can remember how impressed I was at the time that a white man could sound so 'black'. Maybe he's using a South-African accent? Same as in 'Mary's Boy Child'.
That EP was amongst the first that my parents bought, along with Harry Belafonte in Carnegie Hall (with Odetta and the Chad Mitchell Trio - incl. John Denver at the time). Ah - that was in the days where our whole family would sit together and listen to music.
