The backwards way to find them, of course, is to open Windows Explorer and in "search" look for a file name you know to be in there, that you remember downloading. And once you find it, look around to see if the rest of your stuff is there.

You could copy it to an easier location (leave it alone for the time being till you see if it works) and direct your browsers to put the new downloaded temp files in the new location. Once you know it works, you can empty the old place if you want the space freed up, or to use it as backup for the earlier set of files.
