Thread Name: BS: Tall ships
Subject: RE: BS: Tall ships
Just got back from seeing the parade of the toy soldiers, eh, sorry tall ships. Boston did no better than NY maybe worse. I had a blast, saw them all, bumped into a buddy got onto the Mystic Whaler sang a few songs & then called it an early night in preparation fo tomorrow night's gig & then a party. The crowds were way under the expected & the access to the waterfront was severly resricted (almost nil), more crowd contol personnel than crowd even the guys in green camouflage. I guess I could've bought tickets to gain access to the waterfront but first I had no idea that I'd need to & I still have no idea on where you'd buy them or how much they'd cost, so I did what any true born Bostonian would do under these restraints of freedom, I snuck in (the 2 access points where I was were miles apart, nothing opened between Castle Island & the Federal Courthouse & me with my 2 bad feet, shame on them), later at 4:00pm the city decieded that the public should once again be able to have it's tea party & they opened the gates (ya, after the parade's all over).I still had a great time but it's a crime that it could've been so much better. Barry, hoping for a turnaround for tomorrow.
