BTW, I think we would be well served by having ONE "Your Caption for this Picture" thread instead of a new one every time someone finds a cute JPEG to prompt captions with. My reasoning is simple. I have been connected to the web and the internet since the early 1990's, and in that time I have seen 57,389 cute pictures of the osrt that could be used in mixed company for this sort of thing. If you add off-color ones, 3.4 million.

Given that the Mudcat wanders readily back and forth across the line between local color and off-color, that means we are contemplating, over the coming years, about half a million threads by rough estimate dedicated to thinking up funny captions for clever pictures.

That's more than the whole Mudcat had in the first ten years of its existence. ANd only marginally related to any sort of music at all, and even arguably only second class BS to boot--like comparing headline-writing with journalism or Hemingway.
