Rusty Cage was written by Cornell and was performed by Soundgarden. Cornell can write really good. I don't think he gets the credit he should for his writing abilities. I loved Cash's version of it. I was so caught off guard when I heard Cash do it. Well the same thing with Mercy Seat. I differ though I think Mercy Seat was a great cover. I love Nick Cave's version and have been a Nick cave fan for years and years. The Bad Seeds is one of my all time fav band names as well lol. Cash brought something different to the table with his cover though and I loved it. I pretty much regard it as a total different song instead of thinking of it as a remake even though it even has the same chord progression.
