The Commerce Department oversees the director of the US Census bureau.
The director of the Census bureau still reports to the Commerce Department, but will also report to senior management of the White House.

Don't you think the president should be fully informed and receive reports from such an important bureau as the census?

We should be glad that we now have a president who works hard at knowing all the facts about what is going on in this country to be fully informed when making decisions.
