The best I can figure about Flemmings' guitar design is that it appears to be the love-child from a ménage a trois between an actual guitar (the shape), a banjo (the "vellum" head replacing the soundboard), and an Indian sitar or possibly a Norwegian Hardanger fiddle (the sympathetic strings). Flemmings didn't even call it a "guitar." He called it a "euphonica." I can only imagine the sound. . . . Don Firth
