Well, Don, my very own brother is running for Mayor of his small town. He's also served two terms as a village alderman, and several terms on the local school board.

He only served two terms as alderman because he believes in term limits. And I'm pretty sure he's honest and all because he's still living in the same house he has been, just bought a USED car, is married to the same wife for 34 years, and doesn't (as far as I know) have a mistress or has had an affair. He pays his taxes on time, except for when he got back from 'Nam and had missed filing that year, but he made it up as soon as he could.

My uncle served God Alone Knows how many terms as alderman back in Ye Olde Home Towne. For the reasons outlined for my brother I'm pretty sure he too is honest, only he's been married to the same person for better than 55 years.

So yeah, there are some honest ones who work for the people out there. But you gotta SEARCH for 'em.
