How about a special tax rate - lets say 80% - for any income earned from speeches (and books, lunches etc) given by a politician/civil service or other publically funded position where the speech arises from the fact they held that position. I would not want to supertax Clinton, Bush or Blair if they gave a lecture on butterflies, but where their return is a consequence of public investment, why not let us get a suitable share?
