I just cannot believe that a post over such a wonderful song as this, has deteriorated into trying to make it seem racially motivated.

Get real, "skin as black as coal" means what it says, to make ANY change in the words reduces the desired effect. If you see any thing in this song that is not "politicaly correct" then it is you who are a racist IMHO of course.
