Our Merlee is anti-social when it comes to other dogs, unless they are introduced in a very careful manner. We keep thinking we need to get a young'un for him to train, but 1] it's difficult to find a McNab close-by and 2] we're reluctant to put him through too much stress, though when he came along he really perked up the old dog we had then. It was obvious he needed more company of his own kind, so maybe the same holds true for Merls.
