A popular urban legend right now. Heard it from a few sources, but none better than Jim Eldon's variant from The Zoo & Logical Times:

Jim tells me a lady once collapsed just outside the pub on Hilderthorpe Road, on telephoning for emergency assistance the slightly inebriated caller was asked for the address. When he told her she asked "Hilderthorpe, how do you spell that?" The good Samaritan thought for a moment before replying, "Hang on a second and we'll drag her round to West Street...".
