I think the only people who are going to be listened to are those with some power of leverage - i.e. the parents, who provide the children and the economic backing for lessons and all the other gear; and teachers - who probably have a lot to lose if they displease someone higher up in the power structure or alienate/scare off too many customers.

As CaitlĂ­n says, if they all made a co-ordinated stand it would probably have some effect, but they would have to organise, and organisation requires a leader. The dance world doesn't have anything to lose by us outsiders moaning. Someone would have to threaten them where it hurts - lack of participants and financial input. From what I can read, most of those posting here aren't in a position to do that.

It's a very, very good point though. You're spot on.
