Should you reply, they will send you a money order that you are told to deposit, and then send your own check to the "shipper" along with the address to which the dogs are to be delivered. You will be given permission to keep a large portion of the money order "to take care of the dogs."

Two weeks after you send your check, you will learn that the money order was a forgery, and that amount (with penalties and other fees) will be withdrawn from your account. Your check will already have cleared, and that money will also be taken from your account.

While you are "down at the station" complaining about being victimized, local associates of the scammer will remove everything of value from the "delivery address."

You might have purchased a money order to forward the money to the shipper, but if you sent a personal check (as Mary probably suggests) the "shipper" will of course have your bank account number (from your check) to sell to another scammer who can probably also purchase your password from the hackers who will have identified and "hacked" your computer (from which you replied) and will be able to clean out anything left of your funds.

Standard Nigerian Scam.

If Mary actually was on a "mission," she would have a church sponsor and friends who would gladly take care of her miserable little curs without the need to spam strangers.
