My personal favourite is his first (1956) version of FRANKIE & JOHNNY
(not to be confused with later versions he recorded.)
Denny Wright, Micky Ashman and Nick Nicholls maintain a driving sort of blues-tango rhythm over which Lonnie turns in one of his most exciting and impassioned vocals.
It knocked me out the first time I heard it over 50 years ago -
and still does today.
