If you're in Dingle then head down the road to Inch Strand and marvel at the wonder of it all (although I've heard they've built a cafe there now).

When I was at school I handed in an English assignment and the teacher (who was excellent but deeply sarcastic), in an attempt to humiliate me when handing the papers back said "Jack, you must have kissed the Blarney Stone" and I replied "Actually sir, I have". Not sure I would now though - can you still do it with all the leaning back over the drop etc?

Also, it's worth getting up early for a stroll along the Kenmare River at dawn. Aside from the rumours there's no Irish in my family as far as I know but arriving at that place for the first time felt like coming home.
