People bring truckloads of pussy willow branches to spring art fairs and other festivals in the south. The pussywillow sellers generally aren't officially affiliated with the festival, but what we call "scabs". They usually pay a business owner to let them set up in a parking lot near the festival site and they catch people coming in. At one art fair I exhibit at in Fairhope, Alabama, a guy brings in a semi trailer loaded with the things, and he sells out the first day of the show. It's pretty amazing to look down the street on Friday and see hundreds of people carrying bundles of pussywillow branches.
