Very few "big box" retailers will willingly take back a purchased item, and even fewer will "service" one. In fact most major items come with instructions in the packaging that state that you must go to the original manufacturer for any warranty claims.
A few US states have "merchantability" laws that require a seller to refund or exchange a product that you can show was defective at the time of delivery, but few merchants, even in those places, will willingly do anything for you. If you know the local law, and make a lot of noise when the store is crowded, you may get an exchange for another like item, or possibly a "shopping card" (so that you have to spend it in their store) for the original purchase price. Cash refunds are rare on items of any real value; although Walmart is among the ones giving least arguments - and prompt cash refunds - for smaller items if you have your original receipt and within a week or so. (Walmart usually is even fairly flexible about their stated "within 10 days of purchase" if you can think up an excuse for why it took a little longer.)
Policies may vary with the season though. Refund/exchange policies frequently are different for "Christmas season" purchases when fraud takes an enourmous jump than at other times of the year when your "honest face" (and willingness to cause a disturbance) is about all you need.
I would expect that there is no local service agent "authorized" by the maker for your product, and that the shipping and "inspection fees" if you send it to the "factory" will be approximately equal to the original purchase price, and some manufacturers who "warrant the product" don't warrant the parts in the product so they may try to charge you for any "replacement parts."
If it is at all possible, you usually are ahead if you can get a replacement from the seller, or a refund of some sort; but waiting even for a short time before looking for your fix can make this difficult, if not impossible.
At the very least, you need to IMMEDIATELY find out what the manufacturer's return/exchange/repair policies are, and how much it's going to cost you to get a "free" replacement or a repair.
