Maeve - did you take up the roots as well? I thought we'd mown and pulled ours into extinction (it was a creeper in from next door, under the fence) but every year another shoot would appear in the middle of the lawn or flower bed. It took 5 years to get rid of it - and then we moved!

My tiddly willow is starting to swell, I'm getting excited at having pussy willows in the house for Easter - if I can disuade the cat from eating them!
