Longwood Thump is (was?) the local name for the holiday when the rushbearing occured.

I recall Saddleworth as being in the West Riding of Yorkshire, although the placename signs used to be emblazoned with a red rose because the area came under the juristiction of Oldham Council / Borough or whatever.
