My old car, the Lada, used to contain a 5lb lump hammer. Very useful when stuck on the side of the road with a wheel brace that won't turn because the buggers in the garage put the wheel on with one of those hydraulic thingies... Used it whilst camping for tent pegs when we forgot the mallet, lent it to someone to bang out a dint in his bumper when he backed into a wall, and useful in situations where others might use the nightstick or wheel brace (I guess that would be a tyre iron.. or a tire iron).
