Thread Name: searching for 70s' songwriting duo
Subject: searching for 70s' songwriting duo
Hello all!

Firstly, I'll spout some of my musical interest in order to introduce myself to your community. I have a deep interest in country blues, folk, and New Orleans 50s'-60's pop music lineage/evolution. I've played guitar for 10 years now -mostly finger and flat picking. I refuse to listen to corporate radio. I'm lucky to live in New Orleans where we have no shortage of music. Today in my rotation; Josh Ritter, Grayson Capps, Ramsay Midwood, Blind Willie Mctell, and Rick Spreitzer.

My problem started when I read an online article about a year ago about a 1970's songwriting duo, and I didn't write the names down. I've been searching the web occasionally with no luck. And now, I am asking for help where ever it seem even slightly appropriate. Here is the list of what I THINK I remember from the article.

not very popular songwriting duo from early 70s'
2-3 LPs
both guitars
folk/country
they were touted as exceptional songwriters
one had and uncommon German sounding name that I THINK started with an 'H'
think I remember that they were from Colorado -west if anywhere
may have went by a short name that could have been a combo of the two
       last names
there were pics in the article and both had a mountain man appearance(I know
that sounds funny) on their album covers
one i believe is still recording/performing

Any help/direction would be GREAT! Its a passionate search now.

Sincerely,
Kevin
