Thread Name: Docu in progress: Music of America
Subject: Docu in progress: Music of America
In the obit thread for Archie Green, Deborah Robins of Nut Hill Productions posted this:

"I interviewed Archie a few years back for our PBS television series, THE MUSIC OF AMERICA:History Through Musical Traditions, and found that the customary two-hours on-camera were just enough to scratch the surface."

It sounds like she's been working on the documentary that many of us have been waiting for. They have a web site, www.themusicofamerica.org. No word on when it will come out; looks like it's still a work in progress.

They do have a donations page: "Time is of the essence, your tax-deductable donation can help preserve our tradition of American Folk Music for generations to come. Please give generously."

Via her handle (Babypix), I find three posts back in 2004 putting out a call for film footage, although she got no reply on that thread, a note that same year in the obit thread for Sis Cunningham (the working title for the film then was "Where Have All the Folkies Gone?"), and also her first query thread, which had a bit more success, here.

I hope that Deborah will chime in here and tell us more about the status of the film.
