Thread Name: BS: Derivation/Origin of 'demmick' for 'brok
Subject: BS: Derivation/Origin of 'demmick' for 'brok
About 40 years ago, around Manchester (UK) [and for all I know, elsewhere] the word "demmick" was used for something broken and hence out of use ; and for a person seen as useless.

Please, is anyone on the 'Cat able to tell me the origin and/or derivation of the word "demmick" ?

(It isn't Romani or Anglo-Romani, nor yet Cant.)
