Thread Name: Singtime Frolics, Oregon - March 25-27, 2011
Subject: Singtime Frolics, Oregon 3/27-29/09
Singtime Frolics, the weekend music camp sponsored by the Portland (Oregon) Folk Music Society, starts tomorrow.   Linda Waterfall, from Seattle, is the special musical guest and will be leading workshops on harmony, Hispanic folksongs, and songwriting.
Zeke Hoskin, from Bellingham, WA, will be doing a workshop on jazz mandolin (sounds intriguing) and his wife, Flip Breskin, is doing one on principles of arranging for fingerpicking solos. Other scheduled workshops include Songs of Ireland (David Ingerson); Songs and Stories of the Bizarre, the Unusual, and the Unexpected (Robert Rodriguez; Carter Family guitar (Jane Keefer); and Sea Shanties (Jonathan Lay and Gordy).

Singtime is always a great weekend of jam sessions, sing-alongs and song circles, and a fun Sat. night concert (not unlike the FSGW Getaway but on a smaller scale).   We expect to be rained on most of the day Saturday -- it is Oregon's Willamette Valley, after all, and March -- but that seldom dampens anyone's enthusiasm for music.   It just puts a damper on the outside jam sessions.
