I'm extremely tired of tiny minds that can't even spell W - I - D - E - R    I - S - S - U - E - S.
But those who want to snigger their way to oblivion unable to recognise how much needs to be done to rescue and improve the status of the tradarts, so be it.

and

I went on to mention that I took to writing instead. That (as I'm sure I've mentioned before) is why I don't "join" anything, nor indeed perform (much). It's unethical for a necessarily outside observer to do so.

There is absolutely nothing to prevent you from performing AND critiquing, should you choose to. Nothing unethical about it. As a critic you delude yourself if you really think you're on the outside looking in, because you were already a performer. I suspect you've placed yourself in the margins where your writing voice and your performing have cancelled each other out and the complaint we are reading here is the result.

Poking fun at oneself as in that parody means the writer is in the mix, he recognizes the medium he's part of. He recognizes it's nature, and it's flaws. He's the fish who sees the water it swims in. He's the critic, with a sense of humor, who reached more people with this parody than you have with your complaint.

This analysis is offered free of charge--I know nothing about your performing or your criticism. I'm just reading between the lines.
