Stents are tiny little filligree tubes, inserted in the arteries and then expanded in diameter by a ballon to keep a clogged blood vessal open.


This is known as throwing a "party in the arteries"- they blow up ballons, throw dye about, and generally have a fun time- inside and around the heart.
