I don't think anyone's mentioned that the same company that makes Seagull guitars also makes two other brands, "Simon & Patrick" and "Art & Lutherie" that are also very good low-end, basic guitars. Many of my guitar students have them and are perfectly happy with them. They are playable, they sound good, and they stay in tune.
