Thread Name: Lyr Req: Earls Heaton Anthem/Buds and Blooms
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Earls Heaton Anthem/Buds and Blooms
I have failed to find anything relevant on the Internet with the information you have given me. I need more clues.

I have discovered that Earlsheaton is a former village, now a district within the town of Dewsbury, Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, West Yorkshire, England. Is that the Earlsheaton you had in mind, or is there another one somewhere in the world?

Can you quote any lines or phrases from the song other than the title? (If I search for "buds and blooms" I find lots of information about gardening.)

I am unfamiliar with what the term "anthem" means in this context. I know of national anthems such as "The Star Spangled Banner"—but how does a place like Earlsheaton happen to have an anthem associated with it? Under what circumstances would it be sung? I know there are certain "folk" songs called anthems such as the ones in our DT: CADGWITH ANTHEM and HOLMFIRTH ANTHEM—but I have no idea why they are called that. Can anyone enlighten me about this?
