Lyr. Add: SING SALLY OH
Early Trinidad calypso

Sing Sally oh,- Sing Sally oh,-
Lizzybeth Cullover moin bequer mama maude'ou
Sing Sally oh,- Sing Sally oh,-
Lizzybeth Cullover moin bequer mama maude'ou

Now in de mornin' of de eighth of May,
Sing Sally, listen to what I say,-
De news went aroun' de town,
Dat Lizzybeth came home in she nightgown,

Lizzzybeth Cullover moin bequer mama maude'ou.-
Sing Sally oh,- Sing Sally oh,-
Lizzybeth Cullover moin bequer mama maude'ou,
mama maude'ou,- mama maude'ou,- mama maude'ou.-

"Sing Sally's girl friend Lizzybeth Cullover crossed her mother who promptly put a curse on her. Just enough information is given to encourage further investigation. Sing Sally you are warned!"

A mixture of English and French patois.
Edric Connor, 1958, "Songs from Trinidad," p. 37 with musical score, drum, guitar and bass notes included.

No relation of tune or lyrics to the chantey "Sing Sally Oh;" whether the name man's name, Sing Sally, is derived from the chantey is doubtful.
