'Sunday on the other hand often involves Gastove with invited mike spots, from about 3pm to 8pm so the mid-day session gets a bit curtailed.'

That seems an unfair statement. the afternoon event is a scheduled part of the programme just as much as the lunchtime schedule, and has been for several years. The midday session does not get curtailed - it just comes to the end of its scheduled time.
