Fiercefiddler - if you are not from an EU country then forget it. The rules are now extremely tough and non-EU visitors are not allowed to work in Ireland even if the work is unpaid (highly unlikely I agree). If you are non-EU then you will need a work permit, and the chances of getting one for casual or semi-casual work are virtually nil. Sorry to pour cold water on your plans, but then again perhaps you are an EU national?
