The style in the Irish reminds me of another poet - but I can't put my finger on the name. Any ideas of who the author could be or the year it could have been composed?

Is the first verse of the version you have the same as the one I quoted from Tomás Ó Canainn's Traditional Music in Ireland in that same message?
