Thread Name: Easingwold FC - 20th April - Singaround!
Subject: RE: Easingwold FC - 20th April - Singaround!
I've already made some suggestions about the optimum way of running singarounds, on the relevant other thread, but it will always be a matter of suckitandsee until the club itself, and the mix of performers it attracts, settles down a bit. It's very early days yet!

As for Monday night just gone - well I too thought Becks was very fair and kept things moving nicely. And starting on time helped!

It's always difficult to know how to go round the room balancing types of performer and second-guessing who else might turn up! There were over 20 individual performers I think, and it went well and kept interest throughout.

Having travelled around 80 miles round trip myself I appreciated not being on too late!(I stayed till virtually the end, and still only just made it home a little before 1 am!) But I agree with Nick and the others, that one song each per first turn round is almost always going to be fairest and the preferred option (unless someone really has to leave at or before half-time, or else there's a really poor turnout). And that should be the same for each "act", duos or whatever included - it's not right for duos to always get extra songs per turn if they always perform in the same ratio/role within the duo (though if they're separate performers in their own right, then that may be a different matter of course).

As for me, well I'll be back, sure - as it has the makings of a fine club, and the atmosphere was welcoming and encouraging, where even the more nervous of the performers did a really good turn.

Well done again Becks.
