I've done this before with absolute beginners by adapting "Sur le pont d'Avignon".

"Sur le pont d'Avignon, on y danse, on y danse,
Sur le pont d'Avignon, on y danse tout le soir"

You can then, with the help of flashcards, substitute "on y danse" with "on y mange", "on y bois" and "on y chante" (or any other verbs that take your fancy!).
