I believe I have found his listing at Purdue University, and I THINK his real name is Jean-Rene Ella-Menye. (At least, that's the only Jean-Rene I can find in the chemistry department.)

He also has a Facebook page as Jean-Rene Ella. I guess you've got to sign up to have full access, though. (I didn't.)

I can't find any information about him performing professionally, or about any CDs. I did find his name on several academic papers about organic chemistry, though!
