I was at the Rochester Sweeps in Rochester Kent, UK on the Sunday, where I performed some Seeger covers. Black Girl, Midnight Special, John Henry, Run, Come See Jerusalem. There may have been one or two others but I cannot remember them.

re the Independent article from Terence Blacker... as a newspaper columnist, I can't take him seriously. The job requires either humour of contentiousness in order to sell newspapers. He needed a topic to write on, it happened to be Seegers birthday, he needed to make the article of interest. I would bet that he hadn't really formed any opinion whatever of Seeger until it came to write the article. Probably never showed on his radar until now.

But if he did know and dislike Seeger for sometime, then he is put off by people who are genuinely nice (a certain generation in the US were raised to be that way) then I pity Mr. Blacker.
