I do know some others which involve more...ah...active torments. Such as gently switching the soles of the feet with staves of bamboo sliced lengthwise or slicing the palms before pickling them in brine or sliding a needle full of scopolamine behind the eyeballs and into the frontal lobes or...well, nevermind.
