There was a news story last year about an execution in North Caolina, or some such place. The condemned man was hoping for a reprieve from the Governor. About five minutes before the execution, he was informed that his request for a reprieve had been denied. His reply: "Well - you can tell Governor Smith he's lost my vote!"
