I knew Roy in the early 60's in Greenwich Village. He liked my music and was trying to get a group together to do old time music. He asked me to drop by in a backroom of a coffee house to meet someone. He thought we might be able to do a trio. The someone was Maria Muldaur, before the Jim Kweskin Band. Nothing ever came of it, and shortly after Roy put together the Old Reliable String Band.
