Subject: RE: Tech: Noteworthy - special endings
Joe,

If you look at my tune it is actually AA'BA' which is a common pattern in jigs, reels and hornpipes. It is usual to notate them in two eight bar "halves" so I follow that pattern. In fact if I tried to notate it as you suggest, there would be a multitude of special endings and it would become difficult to follow. Sometimes it is easier simply to write the music out in full.

To your example you described. Is possible for you to post something on a website then post a link here so we can have a look at it. Alternatively post it on the noteworthy forum and someone will come up with suggestions on how to handle your problem. If you do the latter, post a message here so I know to have a look.

To your final query. I agree if you have a single line of music, it displays as one long line and it can be a little tedious scrolling back and forth, but is it really any worse than scrolling through several pages when you have multiple parts and maybe only one or two systems per page? It it something I have got used to and I find it advantageous if you have several parts as you can see them one above the other without multiple systems on the page. If you are dealing with music that has a fairly repetitive pattern, then use the print preview. You can cause a line throw at the end of a bar by highlighting the bar, right clicking and selecting properties from the menu. That way you can line the bars up where a pattern repeats.
