Gnu, from what I read, I'm in two minds about hybrid vehicles. They are much more greedy of natural resources to build, they merely move pollution from the roads they are on to a power station somewhere(most of the time,) They are less versatile, in that you wouldn't want to go on a long trip in them. Normal vehicles do not care how long the trip is, but hybrids quickly run out of battery and have to go into fuel mode AND drag along the extra weight of the batteries and electric motors. It takes hours to recharge the batteries. Having said that, hybrids are cheaper for go-to-work runs, if you ignore the extra purchase price. They are likely to be the fore-runners of what we'll all be driving one day. Hope someone invents better batteries.
