Of course PayPal charges to move money--they take their cut from almost everything you can think of doing that involves money. This is the eBay folks were talking about here--nothing is free with them. But it is less than many other methods, and considering that many U.S. banks won't even fool with foreign currency or checks without (in some instances) keeping the entire amount as a transaction fee, you don't have many options. You have to be moving large sums before the bother of having a bank participate is worth considering.
