Maybe it's some kind of coincidence, but in my Brigadoon music the notes to, Lord Lovat's Lament, say:

Everyone starts back in horror. Bagpipers appear, followed by Archie Beaton, who is carrying Harry's body.

I don't remember the details to the story, but it appears from these notes that Archie Beaton is the father of Harry Beaton who was killed. I looked at kat's and ljc's links, and it doesn't appear to be the same song.

Mbo... just imagine it done real slowly as a funeral tune. It really is haunting. Course I once heard Ode to Joy played slowly for a funeral, and it was gorgeous.
