For 2009 I set up a database on the computer and logged every song at every club night (3 singarounds a week).

Two points on the overall issue though:
1- beware of a particular person at the club making you think of a particular song. They may not come along regularly but if they hear the same song when they do - they may get miffed with out you realising.

2 - It's good to give a group of songs a miss for a few months. It became apparent I was doing this naturally once I had enough entries on my song play list for analysis.

3 - I can play virtualy anything from my repetiore' by request' (30+ songs) given some may be a bit ragged. But the goodwill it creates far outweighs the odd missed word because your trying - perhaps for someone you haven't seen since their last annual visit.
