A friend of mine in NYC chose her parrot EGG. Honey loved opera and could sing many arias from beginning to end - pure torture. She also answered the phone - HELLLOOOO_OOOOOO? Among other things.

Honey also required the presence of a little parakeet or she got depressed. Parakeets don't live as long as parrots and Honey's grief is/was palpable. So now it's one parrot and an endless succession of parakeets. Sure you wouldn't like an ant farm?
