This is one of the rare times I disagree with S O'P. Not on whether the thing is funny or not - the sequence has become one of the internet subtitle standards for whatever send-up you fancy - but the error was in making such a film in the first place.

Some events are beyond art, especially popular cinema, and re-writing them for anctors in wigs and costume was pathetic. It invites pastiche for the tastelessness of the original film.
