Maybe there is a wormhole for plectra as there is for the socks.

Contrary to popular belief, socks do not "disappear." They mature to their adult form - bent up flimsy wire coat hangers - and go directly to your closet (or to wherever else you find/keep all of them).

(I think some one of my neighbors must mistreat his/her socks horribly and they've been coming to my house once they've matured enough to escape.)
